CNC or computer numerical control systems, are automated using CAD and CAM programs. These programs produce computer files to interpret the commands of a machine. The operator simply inputs the designated design, cut or coordinates, and the machine does all the work. CNC systems are used to rapidly manufacture and process parts, art, and cuttings. CNC systems use a special form of coding called G-code. It controls the features of feed rate, location, speed, and coordination. CNC machines can be used for most materials including metal and plastic.
